The ACOT8 acot8 (Catalog #MBS200366) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The ACOT8 antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s ACOT8 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunofluorescence (IF), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ACOT8 acot8 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The ACOT8 acot8 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #34577075) (NCBI Accession #NP_005460) (Uniprot Accession #O14734). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the ACOT8 antibody with the following immunoassay(s):
Western Blot (WB) (The Recombinant Human ACOT8 (10ng) and Cell lysates (40ug) were resolved by SDS-PAGE, transferred to PVDF membrane and probed with anti-human ACOT8 antibody (1:1000). Proteins were visualized using a goat anti-mouse secondary antibody conjugated to HRP and an ECL detection system. Lane 1.: Recombinant Human ACOT8 Lane 2.: Ramos cell lysate Lane 3.: A431 cell lysate Lane 4 : 293T cell lysate Lane 5 : A549 cell lysate)
Immunofluorescence (IF) (ICC/IF analysis of ACOT8 in A549 cells line, stained with DAPI (Blue) for nucleus staining and monoclonal anti-human ACOT8 antibody (1:100) with goat anti-mouse IgG-Alexa fluor 488 conjugate (Green).)
Acyl-coenzyme A thioesterase 8 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the ACOT8 gene. The protein encoded by this gene is a peroxisomal thioesterase that appears to be involved more in the oxidation of fatty acids rather than in their formation. The encoded protein can bind to the human immunodeficiency virus-1 protein Nef, and mediate Nef-induced down-regulation of CD4 in T-cells. Multiple transcript variants encoding several different isoforms have been found for this gene.
Antigen Species: Human
Immunogen: Recombinant human ACOT8 (1-319aa) purified from E. coli. Clone Note: Anti-human ACOT8 mAb, clone AT4D10, is derived from hybridization of mouse F0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from BALB/c mice immunized with a recombinant human ACOT8 protein. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing ACOT8 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as ACOT8 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
