Description: Anti-Aflatoxin B1/B2 mouse monoclonal antibody
Rat anti-Aflatoxin B1/Aflatoxin B2 monoclonal antibody
Introduction: Aflatoxins are naturally occurring mycotoxins that are produced by mainly two species of Aspergillus. Aflatoxins are toxic and among the most carcinogenic substances known. At least 14 different types of aflatoxin are produced in nature. Aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) is considered the most toxic and is produced by both Aspergillus flavus and Aspergillus parasiticus. Aflatoxin M1 (AFM1) is a major metabolite of aflatoxin B1 in humans and animals, which may be present in milk from animals fed with aflatoxin B1 contaminated feed. Aflatoxin M2 (AFM2) is the metabolite of Aflatoxin B2 in milk of cattle fed on contaminated foods.
Preparation: Double distilled water is recommended and to adjust the final concentration to 1 mg/ml. Usage: This product does not contain livestock or poultry disease agents, non-toxic/non contagious and is not intended for human use, only for laboratory research and development.
Immunogen: Aflatoxin (from Aspergillus flavus) conjugated with BSA. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing Aflatoxin B1/B2 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as Aflatoxin B1/B2 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
