The ANK2 ank2 (Catalog #MBS801103) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Ankyrin B Antibody: PerCP reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s Ankyrin-B can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Western Blot (WB), Immunocytochemistry (ICC).1:50-1:200 (IHC/ICC). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ANK2 ank2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The ANK2 ank2 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #188595682) (NCBI Accession #NP_001120965.1) (Uniprot Accession #Q01484). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the Ankyrin B Antibody: PerCP with the following immunoassay(s):
Testing Data (Nucleus. Magnification: 60X. (A) DAPI (blue) nuclear stain. (B) Phalloidin Texas Red F-Actin stain. (C) Ankyrin B Antibody. (D) Composite.)
Background Info: Detects ~200kDa. No cross-reactivity against Ankyrin-G
Scientific Background: Ankyrins are a family of adaptor proteins that mediate the attachment of integral membrane proteins to the spectrin-actin based membrane skeleton (1). Ankyrins have binding sites for the beta subunit of spectrin and at least 12 families of integral membrane proteins. This linkage is required to maintain the integrity of the plasma membranes and to anchor specific ion channels, ion exchangers and ion transporters in the plasma membrane.
Conjugate: PerCP. Storage Buffer: PBS pH7.4, 50% glycerol, 0.09% sodium azide. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing ANK2 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as ANK2 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. ANK2 also interacts with the following gene(s): L1CAM, NFASC, NRCAM, OBSCN, SPTBN1. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene. Abnormalities, Multiple, Ataxia, Brain Diseases, Congenital Abnormalities, Disease Models, Animal, Fibrosis, Heart Defects, Congenital, Inflammation, Nervous System Diseases, Pancreatic Neoplasms are some of the diseases may be linked to Ankyrin B Antibody: PerCP. Brain, Ear, Embryonic Tissue, Eye, Heart, Kidney, Lung, Muscle, Nerve, Pancreas tissues are correlated with this protein.
