The APP app (Catalog #MBS830850) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. MyBioSource\'s APP can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS), Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Western Blot (WB).FC: 1:100
IF: 1:100
IHC: 1:50
WB: 1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the APP app for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The APP app product has the following accession number(s) (GI #4502167) (NCBI Accession #NP_000475) (Uniprot Accession #P05067). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the APP antibody with the following immunoassay(s):
Western Blot (WB) (Western Blot analysis of HEK293T cell lysates (5 ug) transfected with either recombinant APP protein (Right) or empty vector (Left) detected with APP antibody)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (Immunohistochemical analysis of APP protein in paraffin embedded Human kidney tissue using APP antibody)
Immunofluorescence (IF) (Immunofluorescent staining of COS7 cells transiently transfected with recombinant APP protein using APP antibody)
Mouse monoclonal APP antibody.
Biological Significance: Amyloid precursor protein (APP) is an integral membrane protein expressed in many tissues and concentrated in the synapses of neurons. Its primary function is not known, though it has been implicated as a regulator of synapse formation, neural plasticity and iron export. APP is best known and most commonly studied as the precursor molecule whose proteolysis generates beta amyloid (ABeta), a 39- to 42-amino acid peptide whose amyloid fibrillar form is the primary component of amyloid plaques found in the brains of Alzheimer\'s disease patients. Cross-Reactivity: Human
Immunogen: APP antibody was raised in mouse using a full length recombinant protein of human APP (NP_000475) produced in HEK293T cells, as the immunogen. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing APP are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as APP may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. Alzheimer Disease, Amyloidosis, Brain Diseases, Dementia, Disease Models, Animal, Inflammation, Memory Disorders, Nervous System Diseases, Neurodegenerative Diseases, Plaque, Amyloid are some of the diseases may be linked to APP antibody.
