The ATF4 atf4 (Catalog #MBS804910) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The ATF4 Antibody: ATTO 488 reacts with Human, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s ATF4 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunohistochemistry (IHC).1:1000 WB. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ATF4 atf4 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The ATF4 atf4 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #33469976) (NCBI Accession #NP_001666.2) (Uniprot Accession #P18848). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Scientific Background: Cyclic AMP-dependent transcription factor ATF-4 (ATF4) is a basic leucine-zipper (bZip) transcription factor, which regulates amino acid metabolism, DNA damage repair, chromatin remodeling, and apoptosis in response to cellular and ER stress. ATF4 works with various proteins, such as C/EBP homology protein (CHOP), aspargine synthetase (ASNS), and cAMP response element (CRE) among others to mediate cellular stress. ATF4 also regulates glucose homeostasis by suppressing beta-cell proliferation and insulin production. Furthermore, ATF4 targets the histone demethylase JMJD3 to alter chromatin structure and enhance gene transcription in response to amino acid deprivation.
Conjugate: ATTO 488. Storage Buffer: PBS pH 7.4, 50% glycerol, 0.1% sodium azide. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing ATF4 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as ATF4 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
