The BP1 dlx4 (Catalog #MBS834890) is an Antibody produced from Rat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. MyBioSource\'s BP1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoprecipitation (IP).FC: <= 0.5 ug/test
A test is defined as the amount (ug) of antibody that will stain a cell sample in a final volume of 100 ul. Cell number should be determined empirically but can range from 10^5 to 10^8 cells/test. It is recommended that the antibody be carefully titrated for optimal /formance in the assay of interest. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the BP1 dlx4 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The BP1 dlx4 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #11141507) (NCBI Accession #AAG31975.1). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the BP1 antibody with the following immunoassay(s):
Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS) (Staining of BALB/c bone marrow cells with 0.5 ug of Rat IgG2a K Isotype Control (open histogram) or 0.5 ug of BP-1 antibody (filled histogram) followed by Anti-Rat IgG (biotin) and Streptavidin (PE). Cells in the lymphocyte gate were used for analysis.)
Rat monoclonal BP1 antibody.
Biological Significance: The 6C3 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse BP-1, also known as Ly-51 and 6C3 antigen. BP-1 is a 140 kDa type II transmembrane protein that is present on the surface as a disulfide-linked homodimer. This molecule is an enzyme with aminopeptidase An activity and is expressed by bone marrow stromal cells, thymic cortical epithelial cells and at early stages of mouse B cell development, on pre-B cells. The low level of BP-1 expression on pre-B cells can be upregulated in the presence of IL-7. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing BP1 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as BP1 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
