The BRAF braf (Catalog #MBS533730) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. MyBioSource\'s BRAF can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Western Blot (WB).IHC: 1:50
WB: 1:2000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the BRAF braf for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The BRAF braf product has the following accession number(s) (GI #224371729) (NCBI Accession #YP_002605893.1). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the BRAF antibody with the following immunoassay(s):
Western Blot (WB) (Western Blot analysis of HEK293T cell lysates (5 ug) transfected with either recombinant BRAF protein (Right) or empty vector (Left) detected with BRAF antibody)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (Immunohistochemical analysis of BRAF protein in paraffin embedded Human colon tissue using BRAF antibody)
Mouse monoclonal BRAF antibody.
Biological Significance: BRAF is a protein belonging to the raf/mil family of serine/threonine protein kinases. This protein plays a role in regulating the MAP kinase/ERKs signaling pathway, which affects cell division, differentiation, and secretion. Mutations in this gene are associated with cardiofaciocutaneous syndrome, a disease characterized by heart defects, mental retardation and a distinctive facial appearance. Mutations in this gene have also been associated with various cancers, including non-Hodgkin lymphoma, colorectal cancer, malignant melanoma, thyroid carcinoma, non-small cell lungcarcinoma, and adenocarcinoma of lung. Cross-Reactivity: Human, Dog, Rat, Monkey
Immunogen: BRAF antibody was raised in mouse using a protein expressed in 293T cell transfected with human BRAF expression vector as the immunogen. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing BRAF are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as BRAF may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene.
