The c-Fos fos (Catalog #MBS809198) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The c-Fos Antibody, Clone 5B11: FITC reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s c-Fos can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB).WB: 1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the c-Fos fos for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The c-Fos fos product has the following accession number(s) (GI #4885241) (NCBI Accession #NP_005243.1) (Uniprot Accession #P01100). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Western Blot (WB) (Western Blot analysis of Human Serum starved HeLa cells treated with PMA showing detection of 41 kDa c-fos protein using Mouse Anti-c-fos Monoclonal Antibody, Clone 5B11. Lane 1: Molecular Weight Ladder (MW). Lane 2: Serum starved HeLa cell lysates. Lane 3: Serum starved HeLa cells treated with PMA (Phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate). Load: 10 ug. Block: 5% Skim Milk powder in TBST. Primary Antibody: Mouse Anti-c-fos Monoclonal Antibody at 1:1000 for 2 hours at RT. Secondary Antibody: Goat Anti-Mouse IgG:HRP at 1:3000 for 1 hour at RT. Color Development: ECL solution for 5 min in RT. Predicted/Observed Size: 41 kDa. Other Band(s): 62 kDa. Observed molecular weight of band is higher than predicted 41 kDa band due to post translational modifications.)
Target: c-fos
Immunogen: Synthetic peptide from the N-terminal of Human c-Fos (aa. 280-380)
Immunogen Species: Human
Cellular Localization: Cytosol; Endoplasmic reticulum; Nucleus
Conjugate: FITC
Storage Buffer: PBS pH 7.4, 50% glycerol, 0.09% Sodium Azide
Tissue Specificity: Expressed at very low levels in quiescent cells. When cells are stimulated to reenter growth, they undergo 2 waves of expression, the first one peaks 7.5 minutes following FBS induction. At this stage, the protein is localized endoplasmic reticulum. The second wave of expression occurs at about 20 minutes after induction and peaks at 1 hour. At this stage, the protein becomes nuclear. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing c-Fos are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as c-Fos may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
