Cancer antigen 50 (CA50), a carcinoma associated carbohydrate antigen, was found to be elevated in the blood of patients with colorectal cancer and other malignancies. CA50 has been evaluated in various studies for use as a tumor marker for cancer identification. Results showed that CS50 was marginally useful for the identification and very useful for the follow up study of patients with pancreatic cancer.
Immunogen: Human CA50 protein. Hybridoma: Sp2/0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing CA50, Cancer Antigen are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as CA50, Cancer Antigen may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
