The CALD1 cald1 (Catalog #MBS604199) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Caldesmon reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s Caldesmon can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunofluorescence (IF).Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation, Immunofluorescence and Immunohistochemistry. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CALD1 cald1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The CALD1 cald1 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #180195) (Uniprot Accession #Q05682). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Caldesmon is a developmentally regulated protein involved in smooth muscle and non-muscle contraction. Two closely related variants of human caldesmon have been identified which differ in their eletrophoretic mobility and cellular distribution. The h-caldesmon variant (120-150kD) is predominantly expressed in smooth muscle whereas l-caldesmon (70-80kD) is found in nonmuscle tissue and cells. Neither of the two variants has been detected in skeletal muscle.
Immunogen: Human platelet protein. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing CALD1 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as CALD1 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene. Brain Neoplasms, Colorectal Neoplasms, Diabetes Mellitus, Growth Disorders, Lymphoma, Metaplasia, Neoplasms, Sarcoma, Sarcoma, Kaposi, Urologic Neoplasms are some of the diseases may be linked to Caldesmon. Bladder, Blood, Brain, Lung, Muscle, Prostate, Vascular tissues are correlated with this protein.
