The CD11b itgam (Catalog #MBS417787) is an Antibody and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Mouse CD11b Antibody reacts with Mouse, Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s CD11b can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoprecipitation (IP), CyTOF Label-Ready. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD11b itgam for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The CD11b itgam product has the following accession number(s) (GI #118490038) (NCBI Accession #ABK96806.1). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

The Anti-Mouse CD11b Antibody (M1/70) specifically binds to the mouse CD11b. CD11b (integrin alphaM glycoprotein) is a 170 kDa type 1 transmembrane glycoprotein which associates non-convalently with CD18 to form alphaMbeta2 integrin (Mac-1) and binds to ICAM-1 (CD54), ICAM-2 (CD102), ICAM-4 (CD242), iC3b, fibrinogen, and heparin. CD11b (Mac-1) is expressed on the surface of myeloid-derived dendritic cells, tissue macrophages, NK cells, microglia, granulocytes, monocytes, and subsets of T and B cells (for instance, B-1 B lymphocytes). CD11b has been used as a marker to distinguish naive and memory CD8 T cells. It has been reported that M1/70 blocks cell adherence and C3bi binding. M1/70 is found to be cross-reactive to human CD11b expressed on human peripheral blood monocytes, granulocytes, and NK cells. This antibody is CyTOF Label Ready and can be used directly for rare metal conjugation using MaxPar metal labeling kits (Fluidigm). CyTOF or mass cytometry uses rare metal conjugated antibodies to simultaneously profile over 40 different proteins on and within a single cell. CyTOF antibodies have the advantage over the traditional flow cytometry for its minimal signal overlap and simplified high-dimensional panel design for simultaneously profiling the phenotype and function of all cells. Each lot of CyTOF Label Ready antibody is guaranteed for its activity and high purity.
In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing CD11b are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as CD11b may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
