The CD138 n/a (Catalog #MBS6009738) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CD138, CT (SDC1, SDC, Syndecan-1, CD_antigen=CD138, Flags: Precursor) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s CD138 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS), Immunofluorescence (IF).Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunofluorescence, Flow Cytometry, ELISA.
Dilution: ELISA: 1:1,000
Western Blot: 1:500~8000
Flow Cytometry 1:10~50
Immunofluorescenc 1:10~50. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD138 n/a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.

The protein encoded by this gene is a transmembrane (type I) heparan sulfate proteoglycan and is a member of the syndecan proteoglycan family. The syndecans mediate cell binding, cell signaling, and cytoskeletal organization and syndecan receptors are required for internalization of the HIV-1 tat protein. The syndecan-1 protein functions as an integral membrane protein and participates in cell proliferation, cell migration and cell-matrix interactions via its receptor for extracellular matrix proteins. Altered syndecan-1 expression has been detected in several different tumor types. While several transcript variants may exist for this gene, the full-length natures of only two have been described to date. These two represent the major variants of this gene and encode the same protein.
