The CD18 n/a (Catalog #MBS5309233) is an Antibody produced from Rat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CD18 antibody reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s CD18 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS).FC/FACS: = 0.25 ug/test
A test is defined as the amount (ug) of antibody that will stain a cell sample in a final volume of 100 ul. Cell number should be determined empirically but can range from 105 to 108 cells/test. It is recommended that the antibody be carefully titrated for optimal /formance in the assay of interest. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD18 n/a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The CD18 n/a product has the following accession number(s) (GI #185133705) (NCBI Accession #NP_001117907.1). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the CD18 antibody with the following immunoassay(s):
Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS) (Staining of mouse splenocytes with CD18 antibody (PE). Autofluorescence is shown via open histogram. Total viable cells were used for analysis.)
The M18/2 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD18, the 90-95 kDa integrin beta2 glycoprotein. CD18 is the common beta subunit that non-covalently associates with CD11a, CD11b and CD11c to form LFA-1, Mac-1 and gp150/95. Heterodimers of CD18 and the a subunits are expressed broadly by all leukocytes with NK and T cells showing higher density of surface expression. Through the interactions of LFA-1, Mac-1 and gp150/95 with their counter-receptors, CD18 is involved in cellular adhesion and the immune response.
In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing CD18 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as CD18 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. Bone, Brain, Connective Tissue, Ear, Embryonic Tissue, Heart, Kidney, Muscle, Umbilical Cord, Vascular tissues are correlated with this protein.
