The CD227 muc1 (Catalog #MBS211808) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. MyBioSource\'s CD227 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistology Frozen, Flow cytometry (FC/FACS), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Immunohistology Paraffin*.Immunohistology - Paraffin: Application Note: This product requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections. Sodium citrate buffer pH 6.0 is recommended for this purpose. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD227 muc1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The CD227 muc1 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #67189007) (NCBI Accession #NP_001018016.1) (Uniprot Accession #P15941). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Mucins are a family of high molecular weight, heavily glycosylated proteins (glycoconjugates) produced by many epithelial tissues in vertebrates. MBS211808 recognises CD227, also known as mucin 1 which is a breast cancer associated mucin encoded by the Muc-1 gene. CD227 is expressed on most secretory epithelium, including mammary gland and some hematopoietic cells. This protein is overexpressed abundantly in >90% breast carcinomas and metastases. The dominant epitope recognised by this antibody is the 12-mer GVTSAPDTRPAP of the mucin 1 tandem repeat. MBS211808 has been tested on frozen human ovarian carcinoma tissue sections and paraffin embedded sections from normal breast tissue. This antibody also reacts weakly with sections of small intestine and colon.

Target Species: Human. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing CD227 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as CD227 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. Eye, Intestine, Kidney, Liver, Lung, Ovary, Pancreas, Prostate, Stomach, Uterus tissues are correlated with this protein. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene. Breast Neoplasms, Carcinoma, Disease Models, Animal, Inflammation, Liver Neoplasms, Lung Diseases, Lung Neoplasms, Necrosis, Neoplasms, Experimental, Ovarian Neoplasms are some of the diseases may be linked to MOUSE ANTI HUMAN CD227.
