The CD38 cd38 (Catalog #MBS666759) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The anti-human CD38-R-PE reacts with Human, Cynomolgus and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s CD38 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS).1:50 (or use 1.6 ul of concentrated stock per 5 x 105-cell test). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD38 cd38 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The CD38 cd38 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #1911103) (NCBI Accession #BAA18966.1). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Testing Data
Information: Human CD38 is a type II transmembrane glycoprotein with bifunctional ectoenzyme activity catalyzing both synthesis and hydrolysis of cyclic ADP ribose (1). CD38 is involved in lymphocyte activation and adhesion to endothelium and has recently been identified as a counter-receptor of CD31 (2). Antibody AT1 recognizes the CD38 molecule of 45 kd.
Performance: Human Raji cells were incubated 45 minutes on ice with 80 ul of anti-CD38/R-PE at a dilution factor of 1:50 (10 ug/ml). They were then washed three times, fixed and analyzed by FACS. Cells stained positive with a mean shift of 2.31 log10 fluorescent units when compared to a Mouse IgG1/R-PE negative control at a similar concentration. Binding was blocked when cells were pre incubated 10 minutes with 20 ul of 0.5 mg/ml anti-CD38 antibody. Conjugation: PE
Production: Protein A purified antibody from tissue culture supernatant was conjugated to R-Phycoerythrin through a sulfo-ester linkage. Unconjugated antibody was removed using size exclusion chromatography. Antibody conjugate is at 0.5 mg/ml with an A565/A280 ratio of 2.66.
Buffer: 50 mM Sodium Phosphate pH 7.5, 500 mM Potassium Chloride, 150mM NaCl, 15% Glycerol, 0.2% BSA, 0.04% NaN3 (as a preservative).
Immunogen: Human T cell tumor cells: CEM. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing CD38 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as CD38 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. CD38 also interacts with the following gene(s): BST1, CD27, CD4, IL6, LCK.
