The CD6 fbln5 (Catalog #MBS476799) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-CD6 Mouse mAb reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s CD6 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD6 fbln5 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The CD6 fbln5 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #958212057) (NCBI Accession #JAO23326.1). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Entrez Summary: This gene encodes a protein found on the outer membrane of T-lymphocytes as well as some other immune cells. The encoded protein contains three scavenger receptor cysteine-rich (SRCR) domains and a binding site for an activated leukocyte cell adhesion molecule. The gene product is important for continuation of T cell activation. This gene may be associated with susceptibility to multiple sclerosis (PMID: 19525953, 21849685). Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
Immunogen: Purified recombinant fragment of FBLN5 (aa242-448) expressed in E Coli. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing CD6 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as CD6 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. CD6 also interacts with the following gene(s): EFEMP2, FBLN1, FBN1, FBN2, LOXL1, MFAP4, SOD3. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene.
