|The CD68 cd68 (Catalog #MBS476705) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-CD68 Mouse mAb reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s CD68 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD68 cd68 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The CD68 cd68 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #298665) (NCBI Accession #AAB25811.1). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Entrez Summary: This gene encodes a 110-kD transmembrane glycoprotein that is highly expressed by human monocytes and tissue macrophages. It is a member of the lysosomal/endosomal-associated membrane glycoprotein (LAMP) family. The protein primarily localizes to lysosomes and endosomes with a smaller fraction circulating to the cell surface. It is a type I integral membrane protein with a heavily glycosylated extracellular domain and binds to tissue- and organ-specific lectins or selectins. The protein is also a member of the scavenger receptor family. Scavenger receptors typically function to clear cellular debris, promote phagocytosis, and mediate the recruitment and activation of macrophages. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcripts encoding different isoforms.
Immunogen: Purified recombinant fragment of human FAK expressed in E Coli. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing CD68 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as CD68 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene. Adenocarcinoma, Atherosclerosis, Cardiovascular Diseases, Disease Models, Animal, Fibrosis, Inflammation, Kidney Diseases, Necrosis, Neoplasms, Skin Neoplasms are some of the diseases may be linked to Anti-CD68 Mouse mAb. CD68 also interacts with the following gene(s): CD163, CD34, CD4, PSMD7, TYROBP. Blood, Bone, Brain, Kidney, Liver, Lung, Lymph Node, Muscle, Skin, Vascular tissues are correlated with this protein.
