The CD8 n/a (Catalog #MBS475642) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-CD8 Mouse mAb reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s CD8 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD8 n/a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.

The CD8 n/a product has the following accession number(s) (GI #76786711) (NCBI Accession #ABA55041.1). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the Anti-CD8 Mouse mAb with the following immunoassay(s):
Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS) (Flow cytometric analysis of blood T cells using CD8 mouse mAb (M2) and negative control (M1).)
Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS) CD8.

Entrez Summary: CD8 T cell surface antigen is heterodimer of an alpha and a beta chain linked by two disulfide bonds. It belongs type I membrane protein. Selectively expressing of CD8 on a subset of T cells leads to CD8 T cell development. Through identifying cytotoxic/suppressor T-cells that interact with MHC class I bearing targets, CD8 is thought to play a role in the process of T-cell mediated killing. Veillette et al (1988) found the CD8 is associated with the internal membrane tyrosine-protein kinase p56lck.

Immunogen: Purified recombinant fragment of human CD8 expressed in E Coli. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing CD8 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as CD8 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene.
