The CD8alpha/Lyt-2 n/a (Catalog #MBS4151586) is an Antibody produced from Rat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Mouse CD8alpha/Lyt-2-SPRD Conjugate Antibody reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s CD8alpha/Lyt-2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD8alpha/Lyt-2 n/a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. To buy or view more detailed product information and pricing, please click on the technical datasheet page below:

Testing Data
In the mouse, CD8 exists in two forms: (i) a CD8 heterodimer composed of an alpha chain (CD8alpha) and a beta chain (CD8beta); and (ii) a homodimer of two alpha chains. The heterodimer is found on the surface of essentially all thymocytes and the-suppressor/cytotoxic-subpopulation of mature T lymphocytes. Subsets of intestinal intraepithelial lymphocytes express CD8alpha without CD8beta. It has been suggested that CD8+beta-T cells mature extrathymically, while development of the CD8alpha+beta+ population of T cells is thymus-dependent. CD8 acts as a coreceptor with MHC Class I-restricted T cell receptors in antigen recognition and positive selection of MHC class I-restricted CD8+ T cells. In vivo and in vitro treatment with the 53-6.7 monoclonal antibody effectively depletes CD8alpha+ cells. The 53-6.7 monoclonal antibody also blocks allogeneic help specific for class I MHC antigens and T cell responses to IL-2.
Storage Buffer: PBS, pH 7.4 with 0.05% sodium azide. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing CD8alpha/Lyt-2 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as CD8alpha/Lyt-2 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
