The Cdc2 cdc2 (Catalog #MBS831971) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. MyBioSource\'s Cdc2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS), Western Blot (WB).ELISA: 1:10,000
FC: 1:200-1:400
WB: 1:500-1:2000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Cdc2 cdc2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The Cdc2 cdc2 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #17136606) (NCBI Accession #NP_476797.1) (Uniprot Accession #P23572). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the Cdc2 antibody with the following immunoassay(s):
Western Blot (WB) (Western Blot showing CDC2 antibody used against Jurkat (1) cell lysate.)
Immunofluorescence (IF) (Immunofluorescence analysis of Hela cells using CDC2 antibody (green). Red: Actin filaments have been labeled with Alexa Fluor-555 phalloidin.)
Mouse monoclonal Cdc2 antibody.
Biological Significance: Cdc2 plays a key role in the control of the eukaryotic cell cycle, where it is required for entry into S-phase and mitosis. Cdc2 exists as a complex with both cyclin An and cyclin B. The best characterized of these associations is the Cdc2 p34 cyclin B complex, which is required for the G2 to M phase transition. Activation of Cdc2 is controlled at several steps including cyclin binding and phosphorylation of threonine 161. However, the critical regulatory step in activating Cdc2 during progression into mitosis appears to be dephosphorylation of Tyr15 and Tyr14. Phosphorylation at Tyr15 and inhibition of Cdc2 is carried out by WEE1 and MIK protein kinases while Tyr15 dephosphorylation and activation of Cdc2 is carried out by the Cdc25 phosphatase. The isoform Cdc2deltaT is found in breast cancer tissues. Furthermore, Cdc2/Cdk1 is a key mediator of neuronal cell death in brain development and degeneration. Cross-Reactivity: Human
Immunogen: Cdc2 antibody was raised in Mouse using a purified recombinant fragment of Cdc2 expressed in E Coli as the immunogen. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing Cdc2 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as Cdc2 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
