The CENPA cenpa (Catalog #MBS803340) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CENP-An Antibody: Alkaline Phosphatase reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s CENP-A can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB).1:1000 (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CENPA cenpa for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The CENPA cenpa product has the following accession number(s) (GI #109637779) (NCBI Accession #NP_001035891.1) (Uniprot Accession #P49450). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the CENP-An Antibody: Alkaline Phosphatase with the following immunoassay(s):
Western Blot (WB) (Western Blot analysis of Human U2OS cell lysate showing detection of CENP-A protein using Mouse Anti-CENP-A Monoclonal Antibody, Clone 5A7-2E11. Primary Antibody: Mouse Anti-CENP-A Monoclonal Antibody at 1:1000.)
Background Info: Recognizes human CENP-A. Detects bands of ~18kDa.
Scientific Background: A replicated chromosome includes two kinetochores that control chromosome segregation during mitosis. The Centromere Protein-A, CENP-A, is a Histone H3-like protein that contains a C-terminal H3-like domain, which is required for centromere localization of CENP-A, and an antigenic N-terminal domain. CENP-A, originally isolated from HeLa cells, is essential for kinetochore targeting of CENP-C. In the presence of DNA CENP-A forms an octa-meric complex with histones H4, H2A, H2B. CENP-A specifically localizes to active centromeres and is a component of specialized centromeric nucleosomes, on which kinetochores are assembled. CENP-An is essential for nucleosomal packaging of centromeric DNA at interphase and functions as a centromere formation marker on the chromosome.
Conjugate: Alkaline Phosphatase. Storage Buffer: PBS pH7.2, 50% glycerol, 0.09% sodium azide. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing CENPA are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as CENPA may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene. Adenocarcinoma, Breast Neoplasms, Cardiovascular Diseases, Cell Transformation, Neoplastic, Chromosome Aberrations, Hypertension, Liver Cirrhosis, Liver Diseases, Lung Neoplasms, Pancreatic Neoplasms are some of the diseases may be linked to CENP-An Antibody: Alkaline Phosphatase.
