The Dicer1 dicer1 (Catalog #MBS804210) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Dicer Antibody: Biotin reacts with Mouse, Rat, Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s Dicer can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunocytochemistry (ICC).1ug/ml WB. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Dicer1 dicer1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The Dicer1 dicer1 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #117168271) (NCBI Accession #NP_683750.2) (Uniprot Accession #Q8R418). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the Dicer Antibody: Biotin with the following immunoassay(s):
Western Blot (WB) (Western Blot analysis of Rat Brain Membrane showing detection of ~215 kDa Dicer protein using Mouse Anti-Dicer Monoclonal Antibody, Clone S167-7. Lane 1: MW Ladder. Lane 2: Rat Brain Membrane. Load: 10 ug. Block: 5% milk. Primary Antibody: Mouse Anti-Dicer Monoclonal Antibody at 1:1000 for 1 hour at RT. Secondary Antibody: Goat Anti-Mouse IgG: HRP at 1:200 for 1 hour at RT. Color Development: TMB solution for 10 min at RT. Predicted/Observed Size: ~215 kDa.)
Background Info: Detects ~215kDa.
Scientific Background: Dicer is a member of the RNase III family that specifically cleaves double-stranded RNAs to generate microRNAs (miRNAs) (1). After long primary transcript pri-miRNAs are processed to stem-looped pre-miRNAs by Drosha (2), pre-miRNAs are transported to the cytoplasm and further processed by Dicer to produce 22-nucleotide mature miRNAs (3). The mature miRNA then becomes a part of the RNA-Induced Silencing Complex (RISC) and can bind to the 3\' UTR of the target mRNA (3).
Conjugate: Biotin. Storage Buffer: PBS pH7.4, 50% glycerol, 0.09% sodium azide. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing Dicer1 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as Dicer1 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. Blood, Brain, Embryonic Tissue, Eye, Kidney, Liver, Lung, Muscle, Ovary, Skin tissues are correlated with this protein. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene.
