The EGFR egfr (Catalog #MBS476413) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-EGFR mutant Mouse mAb reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s EGFR mutant can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the EGFR egfr for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The EGFR egfr product has the following accession number(s) (GI #8815559) (NCBI Accession #AAB19486.2). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Western Blot (WB) (Western blot analysis using EGFR mutant mAb against HEK293 (1) and EGFR mutant (AA)
Western Blot (WB) (Western blot analysis using EGFR mutant mouse mAb against SPC-A-1 (1), A549 (2), HepG2 (3) and MCF-7 (4) cell lysate.)
Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS) (Flow cytometric analysis of HepG2 cells using EGFR mutant mouse mAb (green) and negative control (purple).)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (Immunohistochemical analysis of paraffin-embedded cervical cancer tissues using EGFR mutant mouse mAb with DAB staining.)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (Immunohistochemical analysis of paraffin-embedded rectum cancer tissues using EGFR mutant mouse mAb with DAB staining.)
Entrez Summary: The protein encoded by this gene is a transmembrane glycoprotein that is a member of the protein kinase superfamily. This protein is a receptor for members of the epidermal growth factor family. EGFR is a cell surface protein that binds to epidermal growth factor. Binding of the protein to a ligand induces receptor dimerization and tyrosine autophosphorylation and leads to cell proliferation. Mutations in this gene are associated with lung cancer. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants that encode different protein isoforms have been found for this gene.
Immunogen: Purified recombinant fragment of human EGFR mutant (AA: 693-893) expressed in E Coli. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing EGFR are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as EGFR may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
