|The EGFR egfr (Catalog #MBS603241) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor, mixed clones (erbB, EGFR) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor, mixed clones can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunoprecipitation (IP).
Dilution: Immunoprecipitation (Native and denatured) (Use Protein A)(Ab 2ug/mg protein lysate) The optimal dilution for a specific application should be determined by the investigator. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the EGFR egfr for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The EGFR egfr product has the following accession number(s) (GI #326467049) (Uniprot Accession #P00533). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful. The amino acid sequence is listed below:
Extracellu lar domain.

EGFR is type I receptor tyrosine kinase with sequence homology to erbB-1,-2,-3-4 or HER-1,-2,-3-4. It binds to Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF), Transforming Growth Factor-a (TGFa), Heparin-binding EGF (HB-EGF), amphiregulin, betacellulin and epiregulin. EGFR is overexpressed in tumors of breast, brain, bladder, lung, gastric, head & neck, esophagus, cervix, vulva, ovary, and endometrium. It is predominantly present in squamous cell carcinomas.
Immunogen: Partially purified EGFR from A431 cells/extracellular domain of recombinant human EGFR protein
Cellular Localization: Cell membrane. Positive Control: A431 cells. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing EGFR are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as EGFR may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. Brain, Eye, Heart, Kidney, Liver, Lung, Muscle, Prostate, Skin, Vascular tissues are correlated with this protein. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene. EGFR also interacts with the following gene(s): CBL, CTNNB1, EGF, ERBB2, ERBB3, ERBB4, GRB2, MAPK1, MET, STAT3. Adenocarcinoma, Breast Neoplasms, Carcinoma, Carcinoma, Non-Small-Cell Lung, Carcinoma, Squamous Cell, Head and Neck Neoplasms, Kidney Diseases, Lung Diseases, Lung Neoplasms, Neoplasms are some of the diseases may be linked to Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor, mixed clones (erbB, EGFR).
