The FAK ptk2 (Catalog #MBS850539) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The FAK Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s FAK can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunofluorescence (IF), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS), ELISA (EIA).WB: 1:500-1:2000
IF: 1:200-1:1000
FC: 1:200-1:400
ELISA: 1:10000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the FAK ptk2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The FAK ptk2 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #313851044) (NCBI Accession #NP_001186578.1) (Uniprot Accession #Q05397). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the FAK Antibody with the following immunoassay(s):
Western Blot (WB) (Figure 1: Western blot analysis using NME1 mAb against NME1-hIgGFc transfected HEK293 cell lysate.)
Immunofluorescence (IF) (Figure 2: Immunofluorescence analysis of A549 cells using FAK mouse mAb (green). Blue: DRAQ5 fluorescent DNA dye.)
Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS) (Figure 3: Flow cytometric analysis of Raji cells using FAK mouse mAb (green) and negative control (purple).)
This gene encodes a cytoplasmic protein tyrosine kinase which is found concentrated in the focal adhesions that form between cells growing in the presence of extracellular matrix constituents. The encoded protein is a member of the FAK subfamily of protein tyrosine kinases but lacks significant sequence similarity to kinases from other subfamilies. Activation of this gene may be an important early step in cell growth and intracellular signal transduction pathways triggered in response to certain neural peptides or to cell interactions with the extracellular matrix.
Immunogen: Purified recombinant fragment of human FAK expressed in E. Coli. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing FAK are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as FAK may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. FAK also interacts with the following gene(s): BCAR1, CRK, CSK, EGFR, FYN, GRB2, PTK2B, PTPN11, SRC, SYK. Breast Neoplasms, Cardiovascular Diseases, Liver Diseases, Liver Neoplasms, Lung Diseases, Lung Neoplasms, Neoplasm Invasiveness, Neoplasm Metastasis, Neoplasms, Neoplasms, Experimental are some of the diseases may be linked to FAK Antibody.
