The FASLG faslg (Catalog #MBS468025) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The anti-human FAS ligand (FasL) monoclonal antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s FASL can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC)and CELISA.Flow Cytometry: 1.2 ug/106 cells
ELISA: 1:200 - 1:400
For each application a titration should be determine the optimal concentration. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the FASLG faslg for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The FASLG faslg product has the following accession number(s) (GI #4557329) (NCBI Accession #NP_000630.1) (Uniprot Accession #P48023). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the anti-human FAS ligand (FasL) monoclonal antibody with the following immunoassay(s):
Testing Data (Fig.1: FACS analysis of BOSC23 cells using GM-5F4 Cat.#MBS5468025. MBS5468025 cells were transiently transfected with an expression vector encoding either FasL (red curve) or an irrelevant protein (control transfectant: black curve). Binding of GM-5F4 was detected with a PE-conjugated secondary antibody. A positive signal was obtained only with FasL transfected cells.)
Testing Data #2 (SDS-PAGE analysis of GM-5F4 The antibody was purified by protein G affinity chromatography from cell culture supernatants and verified by SDS-Page (Fig.2). Fig.2: SDS-PAGE analysis of purified GM-5F4 monoclonal antibody. Lane 1: molecular weight marker, Lane 2: 2 ?g of purified GM-5F4 antibody. Proteins were separated by SDSPAGE and stained with RAPID StainTM Reagent.)
Background: The FAS ligand (FASL, CD95), a member of the tumor necrosis factor family, induces apoptosis in FAS-bearing cells (1). FASL is a type II membrane receptor with a soluble form that can be released into the extracellular fluid by proteolytic processing. Various cells express Fas, whereas FASL is expressed in activated splenocytes and thymocytes (2). In the immune system, Fas and FasL are involved in down-regulation of immune reactions as well as in T cellmediated cytotoxicity. Malfunction of the Fas system causes lymphoproliferative disorders and accelerates autoimmune diseases, whereas its exacerbation may cause tissue destruction.
Buffer: phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.2
Immunogen: genetic immunisation with cDNA encoding human FasL (extracellular domain)
Selection: based on recognition of the complete native protein expressed on transfected mammalian cells
Immunogen: cDNA. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing FASLG are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as FASLG may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
