The FASN fasn (Catalog #MBS6000445) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The FASN, ID (FASN, FAS, Fatty acid synthase, [Acyl-carrier-protein] S-acetyltransferase, [Acyl-carrier-protein] S-malonyltransferase, 3-oxoacyl-[acyl-carrier-protein] synthase, 3-oxoacyl-[acyl-carrier-protein] reductase, 3-hydroxypalmitoyl-[acyl-carrier-prot reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s FASN can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB).Suitable for use in Western Blot, ELISA.
Dilution: ELISA: 1:1,000
Western Blot: 1:100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the FASN fasn for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The FASN fasn product has the following accession number(s) (GI #41872631) (NCBI Accession #NP_004095.4) (Uniprot Accession #P49327). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the FASN, ID (FASN, FAS, Fatty acid synthase, [Acyl-carrier-protein] S-acetyltransferase, [Acyl-carrier-protein] S-malonyltransferase, 3-oxoacyl-[acyl-carrier-protein] synthase, 3-oxoacyl-[acyl-carrier-protein] reductase, 3-hydroxypalmitoyl-[acyl-carrier-prot with the following immunoassay(s):
Testing Data (Fluorescent confocal image of HepG2 cells stained with FASN (Center) antibody. HepG2 cells were fixed with 4% PFA (20 min), permeabilized with Triton X-100 (0.2%, 30 min). Cells were then incubated with AM2067b FASN primary antibody (1:200, 2 h at room temperature). For secondary antibody, Alexa Fluor® 488 conjugated donkey anti-mouse antibody (green) was used (1:1000, 1h). Nuclei were counterstained with Hoechst 33342 (blue) (10 μg/ml, 5 min). Note the highly specific localization of the FASN immunosignal to the cytoplasm, supported by Human Protein Atlas Data.)
Western Blot (WB) (FASN Antibody (Center) western blot analysis in mouse brain tissue lysates (35ug/lane).This demonstrates the FASN (Center) antibody detected the FASN (Center) protein (arrow).)
The enzyme encoded by this gene is a multifunctional protein. Its main function is to catalyze the synthesis of palmitate from acetyl-CoA and malonyl-CoA, in the presence of NADPH, into long-chain saturated fatty acids. In some cancer cell lines, this protein has been found to be fused with estrogen receptor-alpha (ER-alpha), in which the N-terminus of FAS is fused in-frame with the C-terminus of ER-alpha.
Immunogen: FASN Mab is generated from mouses immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide selected from the center region of human FASN. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing FASN are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as FASN may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
