The FCAR fcar (Catalog #MBS2544692) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rabbit anti RatFCAR Monoclonal Antibody reacts with Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s FCAR can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA).ELISA: 0.1-0.2 mug/mL. This antibody can be used at 0.1-0.2 mug/mL with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect Rat CD89/FCAR. The detection limit for Rat CD89/FCAR is approximately 0.0195 ng/well. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the FCAR fcar for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The FCAR fcar product has the following accession number(s) (GI #129447255). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

FCAR, also called FcalphaRI or CD89, is a type I transmembrane receptor for Fc region of IgA which is the most abundant immunoglobulin in mucosal areas but is only the second most common antibody isotype in serum. This receptor is present on the surface of myeloid lineage cells such as neutrophils, monocytes, macrophages, and eosinophils, especially phagocytes located in mucosal areas. Upon ligand IgA binding, FcalphaRI associates with the FcR gamma signaling molecule bearing the immunoreceptor tyrosine-based activation motif (ITAM) through an unique charge-based mechanism and triggers multiple cell-mediated immune responses. It has been reported that Fc RI is a dual-function receptor that can mediate both inflammatory and anti-inflammatory responses depending on the type of interaction with its ligand. Sustained aggregation of FCAR results in activation of target-cell functions such as antigen presentation and cytokine release. In contrast, Monomeric targeting with serum IgA or with a variety of anti-FcalphaRI Fab fragments triggers an inhibitory response and additionally induces apoptosis. FcalphaRI thus play an fundamental role in preventing tumor development and growth, as well as in controlling inflammation.
Immunogen: Recombinant Rat CD89/FCAR protein
Buffer: 0.2 mum filtered solution in PBS with 5% trehalose. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing FCAR are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as FCAR may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
