The GABA-A gabra4 (Catalog #MBS807135) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Mouse Anti-Rat GABA-A Receptor Alpha4 Monoclonal IgG1 reacts with Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s GABA-A Receptor Alpha4 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunofluorescence (IF).Western Blot: 1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GABA-A gabra4 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The GABA-A gabra4 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #94400793) (NCBI Accession #NP_542154.3) (Uniprot Accession #P28471). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Color Development: ECL solution for 6 min at RT. Predicted/Observed Size: ~60 kDa.)
The GABA-A receptor is a member of the superfamily of fast acting ligand-gated ion channels. The individual subunits of these receptors have similar sequences and structural features (1). GABA-A receptors are the major fast inhibitory neurotransmitter gated ion channels in the brain (2). GABA-A Receptor Alpha 4 is associated with epilepsy (3), and research suggests that alterations in GABA- A Receptors subtypes may be involved in the resistance to antiepileptic drugs (4).

Available antibodies recognizing GABA-An are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as GABA-A may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
