The GCG gcg (Catalog #MBS175013) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Glucagon antibody (monoclonal) reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat, Rabbit and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s Glucagon can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Paraffin.Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin-embedded Section):
Concentration: 1-2ug/mL
Tested Species: Human, Mouse, Rat, Rabbit
Antigen Retrieval: By Heat
Other application have not been tested.
Optimal dilutions should be determined by end users. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GCG gcg for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The GCG gcg product has the following accession number(s) (GI #125987831) (NCBI Accession #P01275.3) (Uniprot Accession #P01275). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the Anti-Glucagon antibody (monoclonal) with the following immunoassay(s):
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (Anti-Glucagon antibody (monoclonal), MBS175013, IHC(P)
IHC(P): Rat Pancreas Tissue )
Description: Mouse IgG monoclonal antibody for Glucagon, glucagon (GCG) detection. Tested with IHC-P in Human, mouse, rat, rabbit. No cross reactivity with other proteins. Uniprot ID: P01275
Background: Glucagon is a member of a multigene family that includes secretin. Glucagon is a 29-amino acid pancreatic hormone that counteracts the glucose-lowering action of insulin by stimulating glycogenolysis and gluconeogenesis. The human glucagon gene is approximately 9.4 kb long and contains 6 exons and 5 introns, and assigned to 2q36-2q37.
Immunogen: Polymerized porcine glucagon. Contents: Mouseascitesfluid,1.2%sodiumacetate,2mgBSA,with0.01mgNaN3aspreservative.
Reconstitution: 1.2% sodium acetate or neutral PBS. If 1ml of PBS is used, the antibody concentration will be 100ug/ml. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing GCG are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as GCG may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene. Diabetes Mellitus, Type 2, Heart Diseases, Hyperglycemia, Insulin Resistance, Kidney Diseases, Liver Diseases, Muscular Diseases, Necrosis, Obesity, Vascular Diseases are some of the diseases may be linked to Anti-Glucagon antibody (monoclonal).
