The GGT1 ggt1 (Catalog #MBS245634) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Mouse Monoclonal [clone 1F9] (IgG2a,k) to Human GGT1 / GGT reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s GGT1 / GGT can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC - Paraffin), Western Blot (WB), Immunoprecipitation (IP), ELISA (EIA).ELISA, IHC-P (5 ug/ml), IP, WB (1:500 - 1:1000)
Usage: Immunohistochemistry: Formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections. Western Blot using cell lysates and the recombinant protein used as the immunogen. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GGT1 ggt1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The GGT1 ggt1 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #572152963) (NCBI Accession #NP_001275762.1) (Uniprot Accession #P19440). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the Mouse Monoclonal [clone 1F9] (IgG2a,k) to Human GGT1 / GGT with the following immunoassay(s):
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (Anti-GGT1 / GGT antibody IHC of human kidney, tubules. Immunohistochemistry of formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue after heat-induced antigen retrieval. Antibody concentration 5 ug/ml.)
Western Blot (WB) (GGT1 monoclonal antibody clone 1F9 Western blot of GGT1 expression in NIH/3T3.)
Cleaves the gamma-glutamyl bond of extracellular glutathione (gamma-Glu-Cys-Gly), glutathione conjugates, and other gamma-glutamyl compounds. The metabolism of glutathione releases free glutamate and the dipeptide, cysteinyl-glycine, which is hydrolyzed to cysteine and glycine by dipeptidases. In the presence of high concentrations of dipeptides and some amino acids, can also catalyze a transpeptidation reaction, transferring the gamma-glutamyl moiety to an acceptor amino acid to form a new gamma-glutamyl compound. Initiates extracellular glutathione (GSH) breakdown, provides cells with a local cysteine supply and contributes to maintain intracellular GSH level. It is part of the cell antioxidant defense mechanism. Isoform 3 seems to be inactive.
Target: Human GGT1 / GGT
Immunogen Description: GGT1 (NP_005256, 381 a.a. ~ 471 a.a) partial recombinant protein with GST tag. MW of the GST tag alone is 26 KDa.
Immunogen Species: GGT1 / GGT antibody was raised against Human
Antigen Type: Recombinant Protein. Immunogen: GGT1 / GGT antibody was raised against gGT1 (NP_005256, 381 a.a. ~ 471 a.a) partial recombinant protein with GST tag. MW of the GST tag alone is 26 KDa. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing GGT1 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as GGT1 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
