The GMFB gmfb (Catalog #MBS200458) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The GMFB Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s GMFB can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunofluorescence (IF). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GMFB gmfb for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The GMFB gmfb product has the following accession number(s) (GI #4758442) (NCBI Accession #NP_004115) (Uniprot Accession #P60983). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the GMFB Antibody with the following immunoassay(s):
Western Blot (WB) (The cell lysate (40ug) were resolved by SDS-PAGE, transferred to PVDF membrane and probed with anti-human GMFB antibody (1:1000). Proteins were visualized using a goat anti-mouse secondary antibody conjugated to HRP and an ECL detection system. Lane 1.: PC3 cell lysate The cell lysates (10ug) were resolved by SDS-PAGE, transferred to PVDF membrane and probed with anti-human GMFB antibody (1:1000). Proteins were visualized using a goat anti-mouse secondary antibody conjugated to HRP and an ECL detection system. Lane 1.: 293T cell lysate Lane 2.: GMFB transfected 293T cell lysate )
Immunofluorescence (IF) (ICC/IF analysis of GMFB in HeLa cells line, stained with DAPI (Blue) for nucleus staining and monoclonal anti-human GMFB antibody (1:100) with goat anti-mouse IgG-Alexa fluor 488 conjugate (Green).)
GMFB, also known as GMF, belongs to the GMF subfamily of the larger actin-binding protein ADF family. This protein, which is phosphorylated following phorbol ester stimulation, is important for the nervous system. It causes brain cell differentiation, stimulates neural regeneration and inhibits tumor cell proliferation. Overexpression of GMFB in astrocytes has been shown to enhance brain-derived neurotrohic factor (BDNF) production. GMFB expression is increased by exercise, and the protein is crucial for exercise-induction of BDNF.
Antigen Species: Human
Immunogen: Recombinant human GMFB (1-142aa) purified from E. coli. Clone Note: Anti-human GMFB mAb, clone AT44D8, is derived from hybridization of mouse F0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from BALB/c mice immunized with a recombinant human GMFB protein. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing GMFB are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as GMFB may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
