The GNAS gnas (Catalog #MBS476892) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-GNAS Mouse mAb reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s GNAS can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GNAS gnas for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The GNAS gnas product has the following accession number(s) (GI #253970435) (NCBI Accession #NP_068617.6). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Entrez Summary: This locus has a highly complex imprinted expression pattern. It gives rise to maternally, paternally, and biallelically expressed transcripts that are derived from four alternative promoters and 5\' exons. Some transcripts contain a differentially methylated region (DMR) at their 5\' exons, and this DMR is commonly found in imprinted genes and correlates with transcript expression. An antisense transcript is produced from an overlapping locus on the opposite strand. One of the transcripts produced from this locus, and the antisense transcript, are paternally expressed noncoding RNAs, and may regulate imprinting in this region. In addition, one of the transcripts contains a second overlapping ORF, which encodes a structurally unrelated protein - Alex. Alternative splicing of downstream exons is also observed, which results in different forms of the stimulatory G-protein alpha subunit, a key element of the classical signal transduction pathway linking receptor-ligand interactions with the activation of adenylyl cyclase and a variety of cellular reponses. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. Mutations in this gene result in pseudohypoparathyroidism type 1a, pseudohypoparathyroidism type 1b, Albright hereditary osteodystrophy, pseudopseudohypoparathyroidism, McCune-Albright syndrome, progressive osseus heteroplasia, polyostotic fibrous dysplasia of bone, and some pituitary tumors. Immunogen: Purified recombinant fragment of BLK expressed in E Coli. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing GNAS are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as GNAS may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. Albright\'s hereditary osteodystrophy, Brachydactyly, Endocrine System Diseases, Fibrous Dysplasia, Polyostotic, Kidney Diseases, Obesity, Ossification, Heterotopic, PSEUDOHYPOPARATHYROIDISM, TYPE IA, Pseudohypoparathyroidism, Pseudopseudohypoparathyroidism are some of the diseases may be linked to Anti-GNAS Mouse mAb.
