|The GSK3 beta gsk3b (Catalog #MBS475612) is an Antibody produced from Mouse
Source: Human and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-GSK3 beta Mouse mAb reacts with Human, Rat, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s GSK3 beta can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB).
WB: 1:500. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GSK3 beta gsk3b for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The GSK3 beta gsk3b product has the following accession number(s) (GI #225903437) (NCBI Accession #NP_001139628.1) (Uniprot Accession #P49841). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Western Blot (WB) (Western blot detection of GSK3 beta in 3T3, PC12 and A549 cell lysates using GSK3 beta mouse mAb (dilution 1:500).Predicted band size:46KDa.Observed band size:46KDa.)
Entrez Summary: The protein encoded by this gene is a serine-threonine kinase, belonging to the glycogen synthase kinase subfamily. It is involved in energy metabolism, neuronal cell development, and body pattern formation. Polymorphisms in this gene have been implicated in modifying risk of Parkinson disease, and studies in mice show that overexpression of this gene may be relevant to the pathogenesis of Alzheimer disease. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, Sep 2009].
Immunogen: Purified recombinant fragment of human GSK3 beta expressed in E Coli.
Sensitivity: The antibody detects endogenous level of total GSK3 beta B protein.
Sequence Similarities: Belongs to the protein kinase superfamily. CMGC Ser/Thr protein kinase family. GSK-3 subfamily. Contains 1 protein kinase domain. Subunit Structure: Monomer. Interacts with ARRB2, DISC1 and ZBED3. Interacts with CABYR, MMP2, MUC1, NIN and PRUNE Interacts with AXIN1; the interaction mediates hyperphosphorylation of CTNNB1 leading to its ubiquitination and destruction. Interacts with and phosphorylates SNAI1. Interacts with DNM1L (via a C-terminal domain). Found in a complex composed of MACF1, APC, AXIN1, CTNNB1 and GSK3B. Interacts with SGK3. Interacts with DAB2IP (via C2 domain); the interaction stimulates GSK3B kinase activation. Interacts (via C2 domain) with PPP2CA.
Subcellular Location: Cytoplasm. Nucleus. Cell membrane. Note: The phosphorylated form shows localization to cytoplasm and cell membrane. The MEMO1-RHOA-DIAPH1 signaling pathway controls localization of the phosphorylated form to the cell membrane. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing GSK3 beta are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as GSK3 beta may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
