The GSK3A gsk3a (Catalog #MBS609228) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Glycogen Synthase Kinase 3 alpha, beta (GSK3a/b), phosphorylated (Ser21/9), GSK-3a-preferred reacts with Human, Monkey, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s Glycogen Synthase Kinase 3 alpha, beta can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunoprecipitation (IP).Suitable for use in Immunoprecipitation and Western Blot.
Dilution: Immunoprecipitation: 1:50
Western Blot: 1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GSK3A gsk3a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The GSK3A gsk3a product has the following accession number(s) (GI #49574532) (NCBI Accession #NP_063937.2) (Uniprot Accession #P49840). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the Glycogen Synthase Kinase 3 alpha, beta (GSK3a/b), phosphorylated (Ser21/9), GSK-3a-preferred with the following immunoassay(s):
Western Blot (WB) (Western blot analysis of extracts from COS-7 cells, lamda phosphatase- or PDGF-treated, using MBS609228 (upper) or GSK-3alpha (lower).)
Glycogen synthase kinase-3 (GSK-3) was initially identified as an enzyme that regulates glycogen synthesis in response to insulin (1). GSK-3 is an ubiquitously expressed serine/threonine protein kinase that phosphorylates and inactivates glycogen synthase. GSK-3 is a critical downstream element of the PI3 kinase/Akt cell survival pathway, and its activity can be inhibited by Akt-mediated phosphorylation at Ser21 of GSK-3a and Ser9 of GSK-3b (2,3). GSK-3 has been implicated in the regulation of cell fate in Dictyostelium, and is a component of the Wnt signaling pathway required for Drosophila, Xenopus and mammalian development (4). GSK-3 has been shown to regulate cyclin D1 proteolysis and subcellular localization (5).
Immunogen: Synthetic phospho-peptide corresponding to residues around Ser21 of human GSK-3a (KLH). In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing GSK3A are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as GSK3A may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
