The H1 n/a (Catalog #MBS211699) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. MyBioSource\'s HISTONE H1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistology Frozen*, ELISA (EIA), Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Immunohistology Paraffin, Western Blot (WB).Immunohistology - Frozen: Application Note: Acetone or PFA fixation is recommended
Western Blotting: Maximum Dilution: 1/100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the H1 n/a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The H1 n/a product has the following accession number(s) (GI #350536329) (NCBI Accession #NP_001233985.1). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Mouse anti Human Histone H1 antibody, clone AE-4 recognizes histone H1.The histone proteins serve as a structural scaffold for the organization of nuclear DNA into chromatin. In eukaryotic cells there are 4 core histone proteins, H2A, H2B, H3 and H4 that assemble to form an octamer round which the DNA is wrapped in a sequence dependant manner. The resulting complex is known as a nucleosome and is the basic subunit of chromatin. Histone H1 acts as a linker and binds to each nucleosome, and by self affinity, links these nucleosomes together resulting in the 30 nm chromatin fiber. In blots of rat brain homogenate a duplet is observed at 27-29 kDa consistent with Histone H1. Speckled staining is observed in the nucleus of normal and malignant cells.
Perservative Stabilisers: 0.09% Sodium Azide (NaN3)
Preparation: Purified IgG prepared by affinity chromatography on Protein G. Immunogen: Nuclei from myeloid leukamia biopsy cells.
Histology Positive Control Tissue: Tonsil
Buffer Solution: Phosphate buffered saline
Target Species: Human. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing H1 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as H1 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
