HIV1 performs highly complex orchestrated tasks during the assembly, budding, maturation and infection stages of the viral replication cycle. During viral assembly, the proteins form membrane associations and self-associations that ultimately result in budding of an immature virion from the infected cell. Gag precursors also function during viral assembly to selectively bind and package two plus strands of genomic RNA. Capsid protein p24 probably forms the conical core of the virus that encapsulates the genomic RNA-nucleocapsid complex.
Immunogen: Purified recombinant HIV-1 P24 (core protein). Hybridoma: Sp2/0-Ag14 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing HIV-1, p24 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as HIV-1, p24 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
