The HK1 hk1 (Catalog #MBS475613) is an Antibody produced from MouseSource: Human and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Hexokinase 1 Mouse mAb reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s Hexokinase 1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB).
WB: 1:500. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the HK1 hk1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The HK1 hk1 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #188497754) (NCBI Accession #NP_000179.2) (Uniprot Accession #P19367). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Western Blot (WB) (Western blot detection of Hexokinase 1 in Jurkat, HepG2 and Hela cell lysates using Hexokinase 1 mouse mAb (dilution 1:500).Predicted band size:102KDa.Observed band size:102KDa.)
Entrez Summary: Hexokinases phosphorylate glucose to produce glucose-6-phosphate, the first step in most glucose metabolism pathways. This gene encodes an ubiquitous form of hexokinase which localizes to the outer membrane of mitochondria. Mutations in this gene have been associated with hemolytic anemia due to hexokinase deficiency. Alternative splicing of this gene results in five transcript variants which encode different isoforms, some of which are tissue-specific. Each isoform has a distinct N-terminus; the remainder of the protein is identical among all the isoforms. A sixth transcript variant has been described, but due to the presence of several stop codons, it is not thought to encode a protein. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2009].
Immunogen: Purified recombinant fragment of human Hexokinase 1 expressed in E Coli.
Sensitivity: The antibody detects endogenous level of total Hexokinase 1 protein.
Sequence Similarities: Belongs to the hexokinase family. Subunit Structure: Monomer
Subcellular Location: Mitochondrion outer membrane. Note: Its hydrophobic N-terminal sequence may be involved in membrane binding. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing HK1 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as HK1 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. Carcinoma, Cardiovascular Diseases, Congenital Abnormalities, Disease Models, Animal, Drug Toxicity, Hyperplasia, Necrosis, Neoplasms, Neoplasms, Experimental, Nervous System Diseases are some of the diseases may be linked to Anti-Hexokinase 1 Mouse mAb.
