Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the HK2 antibody with the following immunoassay(s):
Western Blot (WB) (Western Blot analysis of HEK293T cell lysates (5 ug) transfected with either recombinant HK2 protein (Right) or empty vector (Left) detected with HK2 antibody)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (Immunohistochemical analysis of HK2 protein in paraffin embedded Human endometrium tissue using HK2 antibody)
Immunofluorescence (IF) (Immunofluorescent staining of COS7 cells transiently transfected with recombinant HK2 protein using HK2 antibody)
Mouse monoclonal HK2 antibody.
Biological Significance: Hexokinase is the first enzyme in the glycolytic pathway, catalyzing the transfer of a phosphoryl group from ATP to glucose to form glucose-6-phosphate and ADP. In mammals, four distinct enzymes (type 1 to 4 hexokinases) have been identified. These enzymes are found in most cells, but there is tissue specificity for the particular type of hexokinase. Hexokinase 2 is found in the skeletal muscle and includes hydrophobic N-terminal sequence capable of targeting the hexokinase to mitochondria. Cross-Reactivity: Human, Dog
Immunogen: HK2 antibody was raised in mouse using a full length recombinant protein of human HK2 (NP_000180) produced in HEK293T cells, as the immunogen. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing HK2 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as HK2 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene. Ovary, Placenta, Skin tissues are correlated with this protein. HK2 also interacts with the following gene(s): C12orf5, FBP1, FBP2, GPI, PFKFB2, PFKFB3, PFKL, PFKM, PFKP, PGM1.
