The HP hp (Catalog #MBS2401166) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-HP/Haptoglobin Antibody (clone 637400) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s HP/Haptoglobin can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Paraffin.ELISA: 1:4000
IHC-P: 1:100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the HP hp for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The HP hp product has the following accession number(s) (GI #4826762) (NCBI Accession #NP_005134.1) (Uniprot Accession #P00738). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the Anti-HP/Haptoglobin Antibody (clone 637400) with the following immunoassay(s):
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (Human Liver: Formalin-Fixed, Paraffin-Embedded (FFPE))
HP/Haptoglobin is a preproprotein, which is processed to yield both alpha and beta chains, which subsequently combine as a tetramer toproduce haptoglobin. Haptoglobin functions to bind free plasmahemoglobin, which allows degradative enzymes to gain access to the hemoglobin, while at the same time preventing loss of iron through the kidneys and protecting the kidneys from damage by hemoglobin. Mutationsin this gene and /or its regulatory regions cause ahaptoglobinemia orhypohaptoglobinemia.
Immunogen: Purified haptoglobin from pooled human plasma (containing the three majorhaplotypes).
Conjugation: Unconjugated. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing HP are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as HP may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene. Adipose Tissue, Blood, Bone Marrow, Brain, Connective Tissue, Kidney, Liver, Lung, Muscle, Ovary tissues are correlated with this protein. HP also interacts with the following gene(s): APOA1, APOE, CD163, HBA1, HBB, IL6, MIS12. Autoimmune Diseases, Cardiovascular Diseases, Fibrosis, Heart Diseases, Hypersensitivity, Hypertension, Inflammation, Kidney Diseases, Liver Diseases, Necrosis are some of the diseases may be linked to Anti-HP/Haptoglobin Antibody (clone 637400).
