|The IFN-gamma ifng (Catalog #MBS584024) is an Antibody produced from Rat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The IFN-gamma, Mouse, mAb F1 reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s IFN-gamma can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, FS, Immunoassay (IA), Immunoprecipitation (IP).
Application Use: The antibody can be used for the purification or immunochemical investigation of mouse gamma Interferon. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the IFN-gamma ifng for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The IFN-gamma ifng product has the following accession number(s) (GI #56786138) (NCBI Accession #NP_000610.2). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Product Description: Monoclonal antibody F1 binds both natural and recombinant mouse gamma Interferon. Its binding activity has been demonstrated in vitro and in vivo. F1 antibodies have been demonstrated to be able to inhibit inflammatory responses to bacterial lipopolysaccharides. These antibodies were furthermore shown to inhibit Shwartzman reactions and to protect NZB mice against spontaneous development of autoimmune disease. The neutralizing activity of the antibody has been demonstrated as being poor in anti-viral assays. If a neutralizing antibody is specifically desired, we recommend the use of another antibody available, namely F3 (prod. code HM1005) which recognizes a different epitope on the murine gamma Interferon molecule and in contrast to F1, exhibits strong neutralizing activity. The antibody does not react with rat or human gamma interferon.
In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing IFN-gamma are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as IFN-gamma may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. IFN-gamma also interacts with the following gene(s): CD4, CD86, IFNGR1, IL18, IL2, IRF1, STAT1, TBX21. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene. Arthritis, Rheumatoid, Autoimmune Diseases, Diabetes Mellitus, Type 1, HIV Infections, Hepatitis, Hepatitis C, Leishmaniasis, Lymphoproliferative Disorders, Necrosis, Respiratory Tract Diseases are some of the diseases may be linked to IFN-gamma, Mouse, mAb F1.
