|The IL16 il16 (Catalog #MBS831972) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The IL16 antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s IL16 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB).
WB: 1:500-1:2000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the IL16 il16 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The IL16 il16 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #25955530) (NCBI Accession #AAH40272.1) (Uniprot Accession #Q8IUU6). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the IL16 antibody with the following immunoassay(s):
Western Blot (Western Blot analysis using IL16 antibody
Western Blot showing IL16 antibody used against IL16 recombinant protein.)
Mouse monoclonal IL16 antibody.
Biological Significance: IL16 is a chemotactic cytokine that stimulates a migratory response in CD4+ lymphocytes, monocytes, and eosinophils through binding to the CD4 receptor. IL-16 induces human T-lymphocyte expression of interleukin 2 receptor and upregurates major histocompatibility complex ?molecules on resting human T lymphocyte. It is able to render CD4+ T cells unresponsive to TCR/CD3 stimuli. Moreover, IL16 inhibits the replication of T cell and monocyte tropic HIV strains in vitro. Immunogen: IL16 antibody was raised in Mouse using a purified recombinant fragment of human IL-16 expressed in E Coli as the immunogen. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing IL16 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as IL16 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. IL16 also interacts with the following gene(s): CASP3, CCR5, CD4, FOS. Blood, Bone Marrow, Brain, Heart, Intestine, Liver, Lung, Lymph, Lymph Node, Skin tissues are correlated with this protein.
