The IL4 n/a (Catalog #MBS838225) is an Antibody produced from Rat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. MyBioSource\'s IL4 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS), Functional Assay.FC: <= 0.5 ug/test
A test is defined as the amount (ug) of antibody that will stain a cell sample in a final volume of 100 ul. Cell number should be determined empirically but can range from 10^5 to 10^8 cells/test. It is recommended that the antibody be carefully titrated for optimal /formance in the assay of interest. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the IL4 n/a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The IL4 n/a product has the following accession number(s) (GI #649100886) (NCBI Accession #AIC49042.1). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the IL4 antibody with the following immunoassay(s):
ELISA (EIA) (Splenocytes from 8 week old mice pre-immunized with OVA/IFA were recall-activated with OVA antigen for 36 hours in Mouse IL4 ELISPOT assay. Control well is medium alone.)
Rat monoclonal IL4 antibody.
Biological Significance: The 11B11 antibody reacts with mouse interleukin-4, a 14 kD cytokine. The 11B11 antibody is a neutralizing antibody. Mouse IL-4, also known as BCDF, BCGF-1 and BSF-1, is secreted by activated Th2 and natural killer T cells, and to a lesser extent by Th1 and mast cells. IL-4 is species-specific and promotes proliferation and differentiation of B cells. IL-4, in conjunction with other signals such as CD40, induces Ig isotype switching of B cells and the upregulation of surface MHC class II and CD23. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing IL4 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as IL4 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
