|The Kcnmb2 kcnmb2 (Catalog #MBS801295) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The BK Beta2 Antibody: HRP reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s BK Beta2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoprecipitation (IP).
1-10ug/mL (WB), 0.1-1.0ug/mL (Perox) (IHC/ICC), 1.0-10ug/mL (IF). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Kcnmb2 kcnmb2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The Kcnmb2 kcnmb2 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #21312300) (NCBI Accession #NP_082507.1) (Uniprot Accession #Q9CZM9). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Background Info: No cross-reactivity against BKBeta1, BKBeta3 or BKBeta4.
Scientific Background: BK channels contribute to electrical impulses, proper signal transmission of information and regulation of neurotransmitter release (3). A gain of function mutation in the pore-forming alpha subunit of the BK channel was linked to human neurological diseases. Findings suggest that the distribution of the beta subunits in the brain can modulate the BK channels to contribute to the pathophysiology of epilepsy and dyskinesia (4). This has major implications on other physiological processes in tissues other than the brain.
