The Khc n/a (Catalog #MBS632141) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Kinesin, Heavy Chain reacts with Bovine, Chicken, Mammal and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s Kinesin, Heavy Chain can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Radioimmunoassay (RIA).Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunohistochemistry, Immunocytochemistry, Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation and RIA.
Dilution: Immunohistochemistry: Paraformaldehyde fixed tissue. Also works for EM.
Western Blot: 1:500 Kinesin (Heavy Chain) on 10ug mouse brain lysates. Mouse brain lystaes were resolved by electrophoresis, transferred to PVDF membrane and probed with K1780-01 (1:500). Proteins were visualized using a goat anti-mouse secondary antibody conjugated to HRP and a chemiluminescence detection system.
Optimal dilution determined by the researcher. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Khc n/a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The Khc n/a product has the following accession number(s) (GI #17136240) (NCBI Accession #NP_476590.1). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Testing Data (Mouse brain lysate was resolved by electrophoresis, transferred to a PVDF membrane and probed with MBS632141.)
Kinesin belongs to the group of motor proteins known to convert chemical energy released from ATP into mechanical energy. Conventional kinesin, member of the kinesin superfamily comprising more than 100 proteins, is involved in the anterograde vesicle transport inneuronal cells. Kinesin purified from mammalian brain homogenates is a heterotetramer consisting of two heavy (120-130kD) and two light chains (60-70kD), resulting in a molecular mass about 400kD. Each heavy chain contains an N-terminal globular motordomain with both a microtubule-binding site and an ATPase active center, stalk region responsible for heavy chain dimerization and finally C-terminal globular tail domain, which is implicated in cargo binding. Light chains may have a regulatory function.
Immunogen: Bovine brain kinesin. Positive Control: Brain tissue. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing Khc are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as Khc may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
