The KLF4 klf4 (Catalog #MBS476071) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-KLF4 Mouse mAb reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s KLF4 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the KLF4 klf4 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The KLF4 klf4 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #930697457) (NCBI Accession #NP_001300981.1) (Uniprot Accession #O43474). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Entrez Summary: Kruppel-like factor 4 (gut), endothelial Kruppel-like zinc finger protein. May act as a transcriptional activator. Binds the CACCC core sequence. May be involved in the differentiation of epithelial cells and may also function in the development of the skeleton and kidney. KLF4 is highly expressed in the epithelial cells of the skin and the gastrointestinal tract.
UniPort Summary Function: Transcription factor; can act both as activator and as repressor. Binds the 5-CACCC-3 core sequence. Binds to the promoter region of its own gene and can activate its own transcription. Regulates the expression of key transcription factors during embryonic development. Plays an important role in maintaining embryonic stem cells, and in preventing their differentiation. Required for establishing the barrier function of the skin and for postnatal maturation and maintenance of the ocular surface. Involved in the differentiation of epithelial cells and may also function in skeletal and kidney development. Contributes to the down-regulation of p53/TP53 transcription.
Immunogen: Purified recombinant fragment of human KLF4 expressed in E Coli.
Sequence Similarities: Contains 3 C2H2-type zinc fingers. Subunit Structure: Interacts with POU5F1/OCT4 and SOX2 (By similarity). Interacts with MUC1 (via the C-terminal domain) (PubMed:17308127). Interacts with MEIS2 isoform 4 and PBX1 isoform PBX1a (PubMed:21746878). Interacts with ZNF296 (By similarity).
Subcellular Location: Nucleus. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing KLF4 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as KLF4 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
