The KRT20 krt20 (Catalog #MBS179899) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Cytokeratin 20 Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody reacts with Human, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s Cytokeratin 20 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Western Blot (WB).WB: 1:500-1:2000
IHC: 1:50-1:200
ICC/IF: 1:50-1:200
IP: 1:30
FC/FACS: 1:50. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the KRT20 krt20 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The KRT20 krt20 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #27894337) (NCBI Accession #NP_061883.1) (Uniprot Accession #P35900). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the Anti-Cytokeratin 20 Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody with the following immunoassay(s):
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (Immunohistochemical analysis of paraffin-embedded human colon, using Cytokeratin 20 Antibody(MBS179899)
KRT20 was detected in paraffin-embedded tissue section. Heat mediated antigen retrieval was performed in citrate buffer (pH6, epitope retrieval solution) for 20 mins. The tissue section was blocked with 10% goat serum. The tissue section was then incubated with 1ug/ml rabbit anti-KRT20 Antibody (MBS179899)overnight at 4 degree C. Biotinylated goat anti-rabbit IgG was used as secondary antibody and incubated for 30 minutes at 37 degree C. The tissue section was developed using Strepavidin-Biotin-Complex (SABC) with DAB as the chromogen.
)
Western Blot (WB) (Western blot analysis of Cytokeratin 20 expression in SW480 cell lysate (MBS179899).
Electrophoresis was performed on a 5-20% SDS-PAGE gel at 70V (Stacking gel) / 90V (Resolving gel) for 2-3 hours. The sample well of each lane was loaded with 50ug of sample under reducing conditions.
After Electrophoresis, proteins were transferred to a Nitrocellulose membrane at 150mA for 50-90 minutes. Blocked the membrane with 5% Non-fat Milk/ TBS for 1.5 hour at RT. The membrane was incubated with rabbit anti-KRT20 monoclonal antibody overnight at 4 degree C, then washed with TBS-0.1%Tween 3 times with 5 minutes each and probed with a goat anti-rabbit IgG-HRP secondary antibody at a dilution of 1:10000 for 1.5 hour at RT. The signal is developed using an Enhanced Chemiluminescent detection (ECL) kit with Tanon 5200 system. A specific band was detected for KRT20 )
Plays a significant role in maintaining keratin filament organization in intestinal epithelia. When phosphorylated, plays a role in the secretion of mucin in the small intestine (By similarity).
Immunogen: A synthesized peptide derived from human Cytokeratin 20
Subcellular Localization: Cytoplasm.
Tissue Specificity: Expressed predominantly in the intestinal epithelium. Expressed in luminal cells of colonic mucosa. Also expressed in the Merkel cells of keratinized oral mucosa; specifically at the tips of some rete ridges of the gingival mucosa, in the basal layer of the palatal mucosa and in the taste buds of lingual mucosa.
