The Mdc1 mdc1 (Catalog #MBS800583) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The MDC1 Antibody: RPE reacts with Mouse, Human, Chimpanzee, Bovine and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s MDC1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunofluorescence (IF), Western Blot (WB).1:2000 (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Mdc1 mdc1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The Mdc1 mdc1 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #132626693) (NCBI Accession #NP_001010833.2) (Uniprot Accession #Q5PSV9). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Background Info: Detects ~184kDa. This antibody recognizes MDC1 at or around the N-terminus
Scientific Background: MDC1, mediator of DNA damage checkpoint protein 1, plays a role in checkpoint mediated cell cycle arrest in response to DNA damage, within S phase and G2/M. It is also thought to act as a scaffold protein during recruitment of DNA repair and signal transduction proteins to discrete foci of DNA damage that are marked by phosphorylation of histone H2A.X on S139.
Conjugate: RPE. Storage Buffer: PBS pH7.4, 50% glycerol, 0.09% sodium azide. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing Mdc1 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as Mdc1 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
