The MEF2C mef2c (Catalog #MBS835032) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. MyBioSource\'s MEF2C can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunofluorescence (IF), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Western Blot (WB).IF: 1:100
FC: 1:100
IHC: 1:150
WB: 1:2000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MEF2C mef2c for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The MEF2C mef2c product has the following accession number(s) (GI #19923215) (NCBI Accession #NP_002388.2) (Uniprot Accession #Q06413). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the MEF2C antibody with the following immunoassay(s):
Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS) (Flow Cytometric analysis of HEK293T cells transfected with either recombinant MEF2C protein (red) or empty vector (blue) stained using MEF2C antibody)
Western Blot (WB) (Western Blot analysis of HEK293T cell lysates (5 ug) transfected with either recombinant MEF2C protein (Right) or empty vector (Left) detected with MEF2C antibody)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (Immunohistochemical analysis of MEF2C protein in paraffin embedded Carcinoma of Human lung tissue using MEF2C antibody)
Immunofluorescence (IF) (Immunofluorescent staining of COS7 cells transiently transfected with recombinant MEF2C protein using MEF2C antibody)
Mouse monoclonal MEF2C antibody.
Biological Significance: This locus encodes a member of the MADS box transcription enhancer factor 2 (MEF2) family of proteins, which play a role in myogenesis. The encoded protein, MEF2 polypeptide C, has both trans-activating and DNA binding activities. This protein may play a role in maintaining the differentiated state of muscle cells. Mutations and deletions at this locus have been associated with severe mental retardation, stereotypic movements, epilepsy, and cerebral malformation. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described. Cross-Reactivity: Human
Immunogen: MEF2C antibody was raised in Mouse using full length human recombinant protein of human MEF2C produced in HEK293T cell as the immunogen. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing MEF2C are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as MEF2C may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
