The MFI2 mfi2 (Catalog #MBS6008473) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Melanotransferrin (Melanoma-associated Antigen p97, CD228, MFI2, MAP97) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s Melanotransferrin can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB).Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MFI2 mfi2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The MFI2 mfi2 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #16163666) (NCBI Accession #NP_201573.1) (Uniprot Accession #P08582). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful. The amino acid sequence is listed below:

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the Melanotransferrin (Melanoma-associated Antigen p97, CD228, MFI2, MAP97) with the following immunoassay(s):
Western Blot (WB) (Western Blot detection against Immunogen (56.76kD).)
The protein encoded by this gene is a cell-surface glycoprotein found on melanoma cells. The protein shares sequence similarity and iron-binding properties with members of the transferrin superfamily. It is involved in iron cellular uptake and seems to be internalized and then recycled back to the cell membrane. It binds a single atom of iron per subunit and could also bind zinc. This gene resides in the same region of chromosome 3 as members of the transferrin superfamily. There are two named isoforms.
Immunogen: Full length recombinant corresponding to aa21-302 from human MFI2 with GST tag. MW of the GST tag alone is 26kD. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing MFI2 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as MFI2 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. Breast Neoplasms, Cardiovascular Diseases, Congenital Abnormalities, Genital Diseases, Male, Melanoma, Mental Disorders, Neoplasms, Nervous System Diseases are some of the diseases may be linked to Melanotransferrin (Melanoma-associated Antigen p97, CD228, MFI2, MAP97).
